As we head closer into the latter half of the year, it’s time to begin formulating my favorite 2026 new music drop list which naturally includes Chloe Trujillo’s EP ‘Rebirth’. Any multi-genre lady who previously covered Frank Zappa and can release a memorable 15-minute searing song selection featuring a heavy metal head banger “As the Sky is Falling Down” and Arabic influenced dreamy, dark “Lies” on the same project is the perfect artist for me. Discovering her “soulfully expressive metal”, I delved into the biography of the artist behind the music and found a fascinating polyglot, polymath individual.

Raised in a family of designer French creatives, Chloe’s carved her own lane in fashion, visual art and music, refusing to stay in one medium. Following her Instagram, it’s easy to admire the way she unabashedly lives her global life out loud. I luckily connected with Chloe earlier in the year about her Parisian creative start, designing Olympic swimsuits, being asked by Gail Zappa to cover a Frank song, swapping early childhood Prince concert stories, being musically creative with her husband Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and encouraging others to keep your ears open to unexpected music finds.
