As 2025 comes to a close, within a year filled with musical adventures, it’s time to reflect on its highlights. Starting off the year strong, NAMM Show, with its annual congregation of world class musicians and every musical gadget and instrument under the sun, stands out above the rest. I’d dare anyone to name another place where you’d find master metal guitarists, piano virtuosos and scratching turntablists under the same roof. Scouring the packed schedule , I knew I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to connect with Canadian metal man and content creator Justus Hajas.

Coming across this Jordan Wav collabo above as well as his “Let Down” and “Paint Me a Picture” videos with infectious choruses, shredding solos, along with his humorous social media content, hooked me from the jump. During the weeklong whirlwind earlier this year, I luckily got a chance to chat with Justus about his Brantford beginnings, creating a signature guitar with Zeru, first linking with Jordan, starting SHR3DFEST in Canada, being a secret avid gamer and his plans for new music.
