Spread the love!

As we near the year’s close, it’s time to begin recapping my favorite moments of 2025. Invited to attend NAMM Show earlier, I carefully perused the performance schedule and set on a mission to connect with the most talented artists releasing interesting projects who caught my attention. Appearing on Friday’s itinerary with California MusicBox, one such standout I set my sights on was Brooklyn born Berlin-based musician and visual artist Grimsøn. His brilliantly animated “Chimney Sweeper” video off his 2023 debut ‘Climbing Up the Chimney’ and the unforgettable 2021 “I Hate Myself Now” video sent me on a magical indie folk rock Grimsongram rabbithole, turning me into a budding “Grimlen”.

I touched base with Grimsøn during that NAMM Show weekend and happily chatted with him about living in Berlin, the So Cal fire aftermath, his start in illustration and visual art, our nostalgic love of NSYNC and Ken Burns documentaries and WTF movie-like moments in Portugal.
